Donate to bring healing to our Sickle Cell Warriors

The Sickle Cell Association of South Louisiana is partnering with The Walls Project to create a Healing Wall mural on the side of the SCASL building for the clients.

The project is a healing avenue for SCASL clients. Often patients living with sickle cell disease turn to art such as drawing, coloring, or painting to help manage their pain crisis. This activity helps take their mind off the pain. By doing the project with The Walls Project, we hope to bring awareness to sickle cell disease within the community. Through the highly visible mural which will highlight main aspects about sickle cell disease, the community will learn more about the meaning of sickle cell disease. We hope that with the Healing Wall project conversations and education will spill from the mural as people drive past the SCASL office and notice the bold bright mural. The wall will help identify who we are, bring awareness, and help clients to feel seen every time they visit the office.
